H’avat Israel” – Chabad congregation (CHI) is a Shul and community center for the chabad community in the arnona neighborhood and a home for Jewish people of all backgrounds.“
The community was established with a small number of chabad affiliated families who moved to area at the year 2010. the minyan has started in various locations until is was settled in it’s current location at Kfar Etzion street in the center of Arnona. Upon moving to the new location the minyan and the community was developed and grow significantly. An addition of strength and stability was added to our community with the arrival of the young couple of shluchim Rabbi Mendy and Chumie Brikman who turned the synagogue into a vibrant and dynamic place which attracts new members. as of today our community counts about 60 families every shabbat, and about the same number of guests.
Our community is varied and dynamic, characterized by a culture that is welcoming and non-judgmental. new Olim from across the globe find in our community a warm house and family-like atmosphere which eases acclimatization into the Israeli society.
Our services every shabbat are always ending with a communal Kiddush around tables set up with good shabbos food and with “L’echaim. this is a special time when the sense of community and the togetherness comes into action. many of the connections and ties between the people formed in those ‘farbrengen’s. the Rabbi of the community, Rabbi Mendy, gives his ideas and ‘Dvar Torha’ during the Kiddush, words of strength and wisdom that reinforces the community for the coming week. The Kids prayer followed by activities in the nearby Gina allows the children to take their honorable part in the community and try to influence their own connection and the sense of belonging to the prayers.
Our congregation also provide a place to grow spiritually and to find a level of commitment which everyone can feel comfortable. An open ‘Kolel’ and ‘Beit Midrash’ for young professionals is hold once a week. A program that also provide the participants with scholarship for their dedication for learning Torah.
